Within the last week, two of my friends have started a blog. Prior to publishing their first post, they consulted me about starting a blog, and I'm so glad they took my advice. They are both strong women with lots of stories to tell. But really, it doesn't matter if you have don't have anything to say and just want to post pictures and things you like. Starting a blog, albeit a small feat, is like starting any new adventure. First there is the fear. Is anyone going to read it? What if it's not interesting? Then there's mustering up the courage to start. Ok, now what? What if no one reads it? What if I get writers block and can't think of anything to write? And finally you post it...No one is going to read it. It's not even that good. No matter what stage you are in your writing, blogging, or other life adventures, there's always going to be questions and fears. But no one ever discovered, created, invented, or accomplished anything without taking that first leap, and starting.
Encouraging someone to do it anyway, is encouraging. Just by telling them to do it, and being excited for them, I in turn encouraged myself. I am not only blogging about it now, but I took my own advice and set aside the whole day yesterday to do yoga and write, and I nearly finished editing my script. Although there were quite a few moments of squirming in my seat while trying to stay focused, I took my own advice and just did it. And I'm so glad I did.
Note: Encourage the people in your life, because you might just encourage yourself.
